Please lift each other up! Breastfeeding is wonderful and you should not stop it because of other people!

This topic is not new and if you have followed me along my blogging & motherhood – journey you know that I am a big supporter of breastfeeding. So the past week I was a bit shocked and hurt when I read an article about a young woman who felt intimidated by a breastfeeding mother at ikea and her message was something like: don’t let me see your boobies and please give your kids away to your neighbours when you’re out! Sad but somehow also funny and I thought  this is not a good message to all the new mothers out there.  It’s time to answer and that’s what I did.

I answered via  (it’s in German) and my post was shared more than 2500 times! I am so very happy about this :) Some women (especially without children) have absolutely no idea what motherhood is like. And I don’t mean this in a snotty way. It’s just what it is. And I don’t like if women put down other women. We all should embrace womenkind and motherhood and lift up each other. I’m not saying every woman should have kids. If you want some. Go ahead. If you don’t – go ahead. Have fun anyways! But please don’t put other people down.

The article made international headlines. Even supernanny Katia Saalfrank posted my letter :) And I’m a bit proud I have to admit 😉 Read more here.

There are three reasons for breastfeeding: the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers and the cat can’t get it.
